Facilities and Grounds

Whether you are a member, player, pupil, sponsor or spectator our aim at Herts Polo Club is to ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable time with us. The quality of our polo pitches and livery facilities ensures that players and members enjoy fast polo played to the highest standard. Veterinary and medical staff are present at all tournaments as both player safety and pony welfare are at the heart of the Club’s approach to the sport. Pupils can take lessons at Herts Polo Club throughout the year either in the indoor school, the full size arena or on one of the pitches. Spectators can watch polo throughout the year from the comfort of the Clubhouse and Members Enclosure in the summer or the Winter Members Meeting Area in the winter. Meals and drinks can be purchased throughout the summer season from the Clubhouse and complimentary tea and coffee is available at chukkas during the winter months.

Tournament sponsors and their guests enjoy exclusive access to the sponsors marquee and dedicated bar adjacent to the number one pitch during the summer season whilst spectators are invited to enjoy lunch on the Clubhouse veranda. The 2008 winter season was very successful and the Club was delighted to welcome many new members during this time as well as hosting several “Experience Polo” Days, Pony Club matches and lessons for pupils of our local schools including St Edmunds, Queenswood and Haileybury. Under the guidance of Martin State, ably supported by Polo Instructors, Ron Mees and Stuart Beetles the Polo School has continued to grow throughout 2008. The increased coaching team and additional Polo School ponies enabled the Polo School to give many Introduction lessons in 2008 as well as numerous private lessons to those members wishing to hone their skills in preparation for the summer season.
